Five Fabulous Fall Blushes!

With fall officially upon us, I put away the pinks and begin to dig out my deeper, darker blushes. In particular, there are five blushes that I have been reaching for lately.

Benefit Rockateur: This little boxed blush is quite the multi-tasker (in my opinion). For me, I can use this as a rose gold blush or a bronzer. It gives me the perfect amount of glow, without being over the top. It also has a lovely smell, which is always a plus in my book.

Milani Baked Blush in Rose D'Oro: We have arrived at my favorite fall blush at the moment. Milani Baked Blushes are absolutely stunning all around. This shade is my perfect fall blush color. I featured this blush in my September Favorites (of course, I highly recommend you watch it!).

Maybelline Master Glaze in Make a Mauve: Although I do not often take my blush in stick form, I will make an exception for this color. This is a somewhat recent purchase (I mentioned in my Fall Haul) that I have been quite smitten with for the past month or so. It is the ideal berry-toned blush to add a striking touch to your everyday makeup look this autumn.

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Plum Wine: This blush truly compliments my skin tone and I believe that many others may find this works for them as well. It is not extremely pigmented but definitely buildable. This blush will suit many people throughout the fall time and holiday season.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Fearless: Although this is technically a coral blush, I find it stunning for the fall. This bright coral-pink shade warms up the face. It makes you look as though your face has been kissed by the crisp autumn air. Not only is the shade gorgeous but this product is incredibly long-lasting and perfect for a full day's wear.

Autumn Lipgloss Picks | Drugstore 2014

Happy Autumn!

Although the weather doesn't show it, the seasons are changing and we are transitioning into autumn. I am slowly switching over to the dark, deeper colors in preparation for the coming holiday months. When I want a bit less of a statement, I reach for a lipgloss. Drugstore options are always the best because they are affordable and allow you to try out new colors. I have a few fun picks for you.

Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Bordeaux: Simple stunning as a wine, deep berry color. This adds a nice statement to the lips without being overpowering. The color is flattering on a number of skin tones.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo: This is not technically a lipgloss but it is close enough in my book. This product has a silky consistency but has a matte finish--which I adore. I like that the formula isn't drying and the product is long-lasting. This plum-pink color is perfect for the fall season.
L'Oreal Colour Riche in Ruby Opera: If you're looking for an autumn red, this is your color. This is a medium-deep cherry color, with a slight shimmer. The gloss smells nice as well, which is always a plus!
Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Rosepearl: Growing up, my mom always told me to select lip colors with rose in the name. She said they would flatter my skin tone and she has never been wrong. Although I have branched out over the years, I do enjoy a good rose color from time to time. This lipgloss exemplifies the perfect fall-time rose, in my opinion. This color is a dusty rose shade, with more than a hint of shimmer. The formula is a bit sticky but the color pay off is well worth it.
NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Sugar Pie: Finally, a nude for fall. Nudes are trendy for autumn this year and I love it. I enjoy a good nude, as a go-to on a daily basis. The NYX Mega Shine formula is amazing and I have been enjoying it for years. If you're looking for the best lipgloss formula, I say NYX is the way to go.

September 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag

This month I am thrilled with the contents of my Ipsy Glam Bag. My samples were all a decent size and I received some products that I do not typically get.

My favorite product is the Hikari lipstick in the shade cabernet. This is a gorgeous, deep red that I am looking forward to wearing throughout the autumn season. I am also glad that this is a full-size lipstick (or to the best of my knowledge, it is). My second favorite item is the double-ended eyeshadow/crease brush by Crown. I have never received a cosmetic brush in any subscription service in the past so this was a delightful surprise.

Next up, I received a Alerna Caviar CC Cream Leave-In Hair Perfector. I was not over the moon with receiving this product, as I often get at least one haircare item in my subscription bag. I have not tried this product so I have no opinion. I also tend to find many cleansers in my Ipsy bags. This month, I discovered a Nourish Organic Moisturizing Cream Face Cleanser. I was immediately confused, as I did not know if this was a moisturizer or cleanser. Upon further investigation, I determined that this is indeed a facial cleanser. This has gone straight to my back-up stash, as I am working on using up multiple cleansers right now. My final product is a brown eyeliner from Pacifica. I personally love the Pacifica brand, however, the sample was a bit small, for my taste. It definitely could have been smaller but I was still slightly displeased with the size. I do intend to use this product soon. I have a number of unused eyeliners, although, they are all black and I could use a brown eyeliner for fall.

That wraps it up for my September 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag! What did you receive in your Ipsy Glam Bag this month? Don't forget the hashtag: #streetstyle in your Instagram photos.

Falling in Love with Fall.

I am one of those girls who gets giddy at the idea of fall. I love the changes in colors, seeing piles of leaves on the ground, and the overwhelming amount of pumpkin in the shops. As I brought out my fall decorations from last year, I grew very excited for what this season will have in store for me. I have already purchased a few of the ever so addicting Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks, along with every other girl. My pumpkin scented candles permeate my bedroom. I am transfixed with this time of year. As there are so many fun activities to do in the fall, I did not want to miss out on a single one. Thus, I bring you my fall bucket list:

Fall Bucket List
Drink Apple Cider
Visit a Pumpkin Patch

Wardrobe Organization: The Process

I was planning to wait to write a blog post or post a video on my YouTube channel once I had completed the task of reorganizing my wardrobe/closet/dresser. However, this daunting process is taking some time (in part because I am not really accomplishing much each day). Originally, I thought that I would reserve a day or two to solely work on my closet. I realized that I would keep putting it off if that was my plan and thus, I began my reorganization process (slowly). I find that it is important to do a closet cleaning every six months to one year. Six months is preferable and I attempted to do a spring cleaning--however, I never started and now it is becoming autumn.

It has been a year now since I last sorted through all of my clothing. I had just moved and I still had some ancient garments (hello prom dresses). I donated a number of items, however, I managed to accumulate some more in the past twelve months.

For this clean out, I took some tips from a recent read by Lauren Conrad. Her advice has honestly made a huge difference in this process. She first suggests having various trash bags, tote bags, and a suitcase for different articles of clothing. I have been dividing mine somewhat differently. I have one trash bag for pieces that are completely falling apart and worthless to anyone. My second trash bag is reserved for donation pieces. My tote bag is for items that a friend may like; these tend to be pieces that no longer fit me properly. Finally, I have a box for items that I cannot bear to part with that I will temporarily store under my bed and reevaluate in six months. Of course, many items that I still love and wear frequently will just head back into my closet. She also says that you must try on every single item. I did not realize what a difference that tip would make. I have been forcing myself to try on every item, even if I wore it in the past month. I see how pieces fit and think about how I could incorporate them into an outfit. I am also trying to start using an app that will allow me to make a "wardrobe" in pictures and create outfits (Cher's closet anyone?).

I am also trying to make seasonal pieces visible. The Ikea wardrobe (shown above) is more accessible than my closet (which is obviously in the wall). I am putting fall and winter items in this Ikea wardrobe and putting summer clothing away in the closet.

This is as far as I have gotten. I will be back with more updates as I progress and perhaps I will create a video once I am completely done.

Have a wonderful weekend!

My Perfect Red Lipstick

As we transition into autumn, I am eager to reach for my favorite red lip products. When I think of the perfect fall (and winter) lip color, I automatically think of my Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in 42 (satin vermilion red). This shade is my perfect red.

I purchased this lipstick ages ago when I needed a good red lip for a halloween costume. This color has stuck with me. Whenever I need a red lipstick to top off a fall outfit or to pop on before a winter holiday a party, I know exactly which lipstick to grab. The formulation is long-lasting and this shade could easily work on a variety of skin tones.

As one might expect, this lipstick is not the cheapest. This is definitely not my most inexpensive lipstick, although, it is by no means my most expensive either. It retails for $20, which is my opinion is well worth it. This tried and true favorite will be seen on my lips throughout this autumn and winter season.
