My New Found Love: Washi Tape

I have been feeling extra crafty recently and have been on the hunt for new things to experiment with. I stumbled upon this book a couple weeks ago and instantly became hooked. I have always known about washi tape but I rarely use it. Last year, I used some black polka dot washi tape to distinguish my phone charger from Joe's. That is the extent of my washi tape usage.

Last month, while in a Paper Source (aka the most addicting store ever), I came across this book. I was intrigued but did not want to shell out for a book about an item I have little experience with. I headed to my local library and voila. I checked out Washi Tape 101+ Ideas for Paper Crafts, Book Arts, Fashion, Decorating, Entertaining, and Party Fun! by Courtney Cerruti. Upon opening this book, I knew that my world was about to get rocked. Washi tape is incredible! You can use it for some many different types of decorating or organizing. I can put it around tea candles or make gift tags (see photo above). Not only does it have so many uses but it is also easy to remove and inexpensive. I love crafts where I can easily change my mind about placement or pattern and not spend a ton of money. I am throughly hooked on washi tape and I am slowly building my collection, one trip to the craft store at a time.

How do you use washi tape?
