Delicious Doughnuts in Philadelphia!

On Friday, Joe and I decided to make a pit stop in Philadelphia on our way back to the city after Thanksgiving [we spent our Thanksgiving with a friend's family in PA--vlog coming soon!]. Per our friend's recommendation, we stopped at Reading Terminal Market. This indoor market offers a wide variety of restaurants and local food, mixed in with cute little gift shops. The place was absolutely packed. We grabbed sandwiches for lunch [obviously Joe got a Philly Cheesesteak].

After lunch, we checked out Beiler's, a Pennsylvania Dutch shop that has a restaurant, doughnut shop and salad bar. Of course we wanted to try the doughnuts they make on site!

While you wait in line you can watch the employees go to work, preparing dozens of wonderful doughnuts.

They use this rolling cookie cutter type device to create tons of perfect doughnuts.

After the doughnuts are fried, someone will fill the doughnuts with an assortment of cremes. They had everything from peanut butter creme to oreo creme. It looked incredible.

We were very surprised that each doughnut was just under a dollar! Such a bargain!

We opted to enjoy our doughnuts outside [all of the tables were packed].

If you are ever in the Philly area, I highly recommend checking out Reading Terminal Market and Beiler's

How was your Thanksgiving?

Holiday Hostess Gift Ideas

With Thanksgiving tomorrow and the winter holidays around the corner, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share some hostess gift ideas for festive gatherings and parties. For the first time in years, I won't be helping my parents host Thanksgiving. One of my classmates was kind enough to invite Joe and I to her family's Thanksgiving in Pennsylvania.

I want to switch it from the standard bottle of wine gift and get something a little more personal. I thought some of you may want to do the same. Changing up your gift could be as simple as complementing a bottle of wine with this cute bell
bottle stopper or packing it in a festive bag. With all the holiday baking coming up, this fun holiday oven mitt set or pie server would make the perfect gift. Or for a home accent, I think these coasters are gorgeous or these gnome salt & pepper shakes. Candles always make a great and simple gift [I like this and this]. For a more personal gift, I'd vote for a monogrammed dish towel or cup

I hope these hostess gift ideas are helpful for any upcoming soirees!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Motivation Monday: You Can Do It!

This weekend has really given me a chance to take a break from life and truly enjoy spending time with people (mainly my best friend who visited from California). I've missed her so much over the past three months and it was wonderful to have her visit New York. Aside from catching up and running around the city, this gave me time to take a break from the bustle of my life here. Now I am ready to refocus my energy and work towards my goals for the remainder of the year.

I am at a point where I feel confident enough to revisit goals I set months ago and work towards them now [even if the progress ends up being less than I'd originally aimed for].

I hope that you are able to focus your energy on the start of this new week. If you live in the US, you also have Thanksgiving to look forward to in a few days!

I hope you had a great weekend!

Gift Guide for Her: Less Than $50

Although Joe says it's too early to start decorating for Christmas, that doesn't mean my blog can't reflect my current holiday mood. Today I am sharing my first gift guide of the season!

I am starting out with gift ideas for her. These are great options for girlfriends, sisters, or whoever you want to give them to! I find that accessories (scarvesjewelryhats) always make a solid gift. For smaller gifts, I recommend festive socks or breaking up a holiday makeup set to create more gifts without emptying your wallet. Smaller gifts can always combined with a festive treat or chocolate bar and decorated with a bow.

Regardless of what you give, the holidays are really meant as a celebration and time meant to spent with those who matter most to you.

I will definitely be doing a gift guide for guys soon [with Joe's help]. If you have any specific gift guide requests for this season, please leave a comment!

What is your favorite thing about the holidays?

The Crafty Pond Review + Weekly Spread

My friend Marta recently opened her Etsy shop, The Crafty Pond. I ordered stickers from her and was delighted to receive happy mail this past week. I selected some November sticker sheets and her monthly kit [it came with an array of brightly colored functional stickers]. She was kind enough to send some extras which are already fitting nicely into my planner

I can attest that TCP produces excellent quality stickers. I appreciate the way that Marta combines functionality and cute designs. My personal favorites are the time stickers and icon stickers [pictured above]. I have never found another shop with time stickers, which I find incredibly useful for meetings, class, and appointments.

Here is a peak at my weekly spread [before the pen]. I've added a few appointments since then but it remains almost exactly the same. Personally I like to use the top third for full box stickers and/or other decoration. The middle third is reserved for my today section [class, meetings, appointments, tasks] & I generally use ombre heart checkboxes. Finally my last third is primarily used for to do lists--whether it be cleaning or blog posts. I generally cover up the lines on the bottom of my pages with washi and/or stickers. I sometimes put a little things section and vitamin reminders and weather in this area. My sidebar is generally lists; my only must-haves are a hydrate sticker and some sort of decorations on top of the thankful thought.

If you're interested in seeing my full planning routine, check out my first Plan With Me

Marta has been gracious enough to offer a discount code for you all. Use the code MOLLIE20 for 20% off your order of $10 or more at The Crafty Pond. Please let me know what you end up getting!

If you considering getting an Erin Condren Life Planner [my planner], you can get $10 OFF here
For reference: I prefer the Staedtler Triplus Fineliner Pens for writing in my planner & the Sharpie Ultra Fine Point Permanent Markers for writing on glossy stickers.

I hope you have a great Monday!

November Thankful Thoughts

Today I am feeling especially inspired to share some things I'm thankful for in my life. Life has been good recently and it is making me feel grateful for all I have. Without further ado...

Living With Joe: After years of distance, I am so grateful to be living with my wonderful fiancĂ© Joe

My Parents: I am missing my parents [they feel really far away!] and feel very fortunate to have such a good relationship with them

My Health: After multiple injuries, I am finally back to myself and am able to run and workout again. I feel so lucky to get to jog by the East River in the mornings!

New York City: I feel so happy that my new home has worked out as well as it has--I feel more inspired and satisfied here than ever before

I am just feeling so overcome with gratitude recently & I am happy to have a platform to share it!

What are you thankful for right now?

Budget Winter Outerwear

Grey // Black // Khaki // Camel // Charcoal // Red

The weather is finally cooling down in New York City. We actually had a rainy day yesterday [enough for Joe to have to work from home!]. Although I am theoretically excited for the string of cooler days coming up, I am also anxious that I am not prepared. I have been browsing coats online--maybe not coats appropriate for snow--these coats should get you through fall and definitely through a California winter. I love that all of these options would work with a variety of outfits and would work well for layering.

How is the weather where you live?
