Trader Joe's Grocery Haul [Video]

I don't know about you but I have a special place in my heart for Trader Joe's. Their unique products. Their seasonal goodies. Their phenomenal prices. Just something about them makes amazing and hands down my favorite grocery store!

Unfortunately, Trader Joe's does not have a location on the Upper East Side, making it too difficult for us to shop at every week. When we visit a Trader Joe's, we go a little crazy. This was especially true in this week's trip with all of their pumpkin treats.

I hope you enjoy seeing what we got

P.S: Should I do more Trader Joe's hauls in the future?! I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Affordable Must Have Fall Sweaters + How To Save Money Shopping

Recently I've had to stick to a strict budget [hello grad school, wedding, and rent in NYC]. I am all about quality over quantity but that isn't always an option. Since my wardrobe has changed in the past year [New York weather is a little different from California weather], I've purchased more sweaters.

I don't have unlimited funds to spend on clothing [especially the longer I've lived here]. Aside from thrift shops, I tend to buy my causal fall sweaters from Target, Old Navy and H&M.

I've created a shopping list of my favorite affordable sweater options--one of them I even own in two clothes and have owned for over three years [go H&M]!

Also make sure to check for coupons. I've linked where I find coupons for Old NavyTarget, and H&M. Their deals tend to change up all the time but those links are updated regularly. Another trick is to sign up for email lists--they tend to offer promotions when you sign up on their website [i.e. sign up for the H&M newsletter and get 20% off one item + free shipping!]. Finally I know I recommend this a lot but it's such a cool service: Ebates. You get cash back on online purchases. I've been using it for over an year and have gotten almost $250 cash back--which is incredible! You can even set up a button [for Google Chrome users] so you don't forget to activate cash back and they even apply coupons for you.

You can also click below to set up your Ebates account:

I hope this is helpful to all of my gals on a budget!

Happy Shopping!

Crockpot Apple Butter

After my apple picking adventure, I wanted to try out a new recipe. I went for a crockpot apple butter recipe I pinned ages ago!

I started out by prepping my crockpot. I've found that as much as a love slow cooker recipes, I tend to steer away from them because I don't want to deal with the clean up after. I picked up these crockpot liners--I'm so thankful I did. They make the clean up so much easier, which is inspiring me to seek out more crockpot recipes!

I proceeded to wash, peel, and dice a dozen of my fresh apples and popped them into my crockpot.

I added 1/2 cup of water, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of all spice & set my crockpot to low overnight.

The next morning I reset my crockpot to high and slightly propped up the lid. I let my apple butter cook down for a few more hours.

I then allowed the mixture to cool and poured it into my nutribullet. I wanted the apple butter to be smooth and free from any chunks. The original recipe supposedly made just over a pint. I came out with two full pints and half of an 8 oz mason jar (total of 36 oz). This apple butter should last a while in the fridge and is excellent on toast!
