Pumpkin Patch Tradition

Over the weekend, Joe and I went to visit our college town. Our weekend getaway was much needed, as my family is currently dealing with an ill family member. We were able to whisk away to our happy place, just a few hours away. We had been planning the trip for months as it has become our tradition to visit the local pumpkin patch every October. This year I was especially thankful.

For our endeavor, I went with a comfortable outfit. The weather was lovely. It was on the warmer side but not hot enough for you to break out a sweat on your pumpkin picking stroll. Due to the slight breeze, I pulled on this lightweight flannel that I’ve owned (and adored) for years. It gives me a fall vibe, feels cozy and it is just warm enough. My dress was a nod to the warm, California sun and allowed me to move freely through all our getaway activities that day. I topped it all off with a hat to protect my face from the bright sun.

Of course I had to bring along my trusty Longchamp. This is my everyday bag and for good reason. I can fit everything I need and more in this purse. I toted around my purchases from the farm shop as we hunted down the perfect pumpkin.
All in all: the trip was enjoyable, as per usual. Now, we look forward to our next tradition: pumpkin craving, hot apple cider, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. More on that later!
Have you visited a pumpkin patch this year? Do you have any fall traditions?
