Why did you create Modern Mollie? I created Modern Mollie as a creative outlet in 2015. I wanted a space for my favorite things in life; I wanted something that was totally separate from and different than my full time job at the time. My blog has grown, through my time in New York City and now back in California. I’ve gotten the chance to work with brands, attend events, and make some amazing friends. I also create content on YouTube and have a passion for making videos–I originally started with videos. I’m proud that my work has grown into a small business and I hope to continue to grow Modern Mollie!
Where are you originally from? I grew up in California, in the Bay Area.
Where did you go to college? I went to Cal Poly SLO for undergrad and NYU for grad school.
When did you get married? Joe and I got married on June 24, 2017. Our wedding was in California, near where we met in San Luis Obispo (we met in college). I did a whole wedding series on the blog & YouTube.
Where are you based now? Currently we live in San Jose, CA. We recently moved here after Joe got a job offer at the end of 2018 – we even did a cross country road trip with Nutmeg to move back here. Before that, we lived Jersey City, NJ. We lived there for our last year on the East Coast but our journey started on the Upper East Side in New York City.
When did you adopt Nutmeg? Joe and I adopted Nutmeg in February 2016. We adopted her from an organization called City Critters in Soho. She is seriously the light of both of our lives. She even has an Instagram account!
What is next for you? That’s a great question! Right now, I’m focusing on sharing my advice as we move into a new home and new chapter in our lives. We have some fun travel coming up this year and I cannot wait to share travel guides and hotel reviews. For real time updates, I highly recommend following along on Instagram.
