With Valentine’s Day coming up on Thursday, it feels like the perfect time to share some of my favorite date ideas. After seven Valentine’s Days with my person, I’ve come up with some fun ideas. These can all be done with friends and most would be fun solo as well. Let’s get into it!

VALENTINE’S DAY DATE IDEAS

  1. Steakhouse & Show: This classic date night has been Joe’s and my go-to for the past three Valentine’s Days. In 2017, we started a new tradition of steak and a Broadway show [sadly that is over now that we’ve left New York City]. This year we are going to a steakhouse and seeing Isn’t It Romantic.
  2. DIY Romantic Dinner At Home: If going out isn’t in the budget or you’d rather avoid the crowds, opt for a cozy night in. I watched this video on creating a romantic steakhouse dinner at home and I really want to try out the recipes for a date night!
  3. Ice Skating & Hot Cocoa: This one is a classic for rom coms but is actually really fun!
  4. Cooking Class: Joe & I did this one year for Valentine’s Day and loved it! We took a sushi making class and picked up a kit for at home afterwards. In the class, we learned how to make miso soup, seaweed salad, and several types of rolls. We found our class through the local community center. Our class was relatively affordable. If the class is out of your budget, you could pick up your own ingredients and watch cooking videos on YouTube to bring the cost down.
  5. Comedy Show: I adore going to comedy shows. Look for standup, improv, and sketch shows in your area! For my New York friends, check out Caroline’s On Broadway, Comedy Cellar, and the Village Underground. For my San Francisco friends, check out Cobb’s Comedy Club.
  6. Staycation: Book a room at a local hotel and pamper yourself with a night in – order room service, watch movies, and relax.
  7. Spa Night: This is a great idea for couples, friends, and singles. You can opt for an actual spa experience or create one at home. I made a DIY spa night video years ago!
  8. Mini Golf Or Bowling: Always a fun and low key option.
  9. Stargazing: If it isn’t too cold in your area, grab a blanket and look at the stars. Bonus points if you bring along hot beverages like tea or cocoa!
  10. Bake Together: There are ample Valentine’s inspired baked good recipes on Pinterest. Pick up some heart-shaped cookie cutters and try something new.

I hope these ideas sparked some inspiration for your Valentine’s Day. Enjoy these Valentine’s Day date ideas. Please leave a comment and share your plans!
