6 Things That Are Making Me Happy At Home Right Now

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

During these uncertain times, it’s been hard to keep my mood up. I’ve slowly been finding things that make me happy at home. Hopefully sharing these will help you find some joy in everyday!

BAKING & COOKING

This time has given me a chance to rekindle of love of baking. I’m fully on the sourdough train – I just ordered this tool set. It’s been fun making some new things. I made chocolate croissants and butter for the first time! This is the most I’ve ever used my stand mixer (currently on sale). I’ve been pinning up a storm so a lot of my cooking inspiration can be found there.

PAINTING

I recently found out about “paint by numbers” and ordered this cute lady liberty piece. I’ve really been enjoying working on it slowly. I can add to it a little bit at a time and it’s really coming along.

PLAYING GAMES

Joe and I both love games. We have a few go-to favorites: Sushi Go, Ticket To Ride, and (recently) Settlers of Catan. These games all work well for two people but are also fun with a group. For virtual game nights, we’ve been playing Jackbox.

PAMPERING

It’s been nice to have some extra time to pamper. Face masks, hair treatments, and at home manicures have been making me happy at home. I shared my nighttime skin care routine earlier this year. There are also tons of recommendations in my recent Sephora post.

GETTING SUNSHINE

Even with social distancing, we can go for walks and hikes. Joe and I visited La Honda last weekend and went for a hike. We saw (maybe) five people the whole time and weren’t close to any of them. The sunshine did a lot for my mood!

READING

I’ve been doing a reading challenge at work, which is forcing me to read more than usual. If you need some recommendations, I’ve been enjoying Becoming, Maybe You Should Take To Someone, and the Idea Of You.
