I have no words for 2020. We can all agree that it was a really tough year and 2021 won’t magically feel better. Even with the struggles, there were also some beautiful moments this year. I do a review at the end of every year. It feels like 2019 and 2018 were a different lifetime ago. I didn’t travel much or accomplish all of my goals this year but I had a lot of personal growth. Let’s get into my 2020 year in review.
MILESTONES
- I got a promotion this year!
- I turned 30 in May
- Joe and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary in June
- I doubled my income from Modern Mollie (Blog, YouTube, and Instagram)
- I exceeded my Pinterest goal of 100K monthly views. I’m currently at 450K monthly views.
- I joined the Yelp Elite Squad
WHAT I LEARNED THIS YEAR
Normally I like to share all of my travels but this year was really different. I didn’t get to travel abroad or even outside of California. I took exactly one flight to Los Angeles for a work trip in January. Joe and I had to cancel our Maui trip for my 30th birthday. We’re actually hoping to reschedule it for 2021 but we’ll see. While acknowledging these disappointments, I do want to share my silver linings of 2020:
- I had to slow down and was able to enjoy my new house
- No commute!
- More time with Joe
- I was able to sleep in/get extra sleep if I needed it
- I’ve accrued a lot of vacation time for when I can travel again
- I broadened my search for a new therapist since my sessions had to be virtual. I ended up finding my perfect therapist
- Luckily I got to spend more time with my parents
- Fortunately I saved a lot of money
- I was able to visit more small, local businesses
- I got to bake way more
What’s Coming Up In 2021?
While I’m a planner at heart, I don’t feel like much will be in my control in 2021. I’ll still be working at home until (at least) September. I will be sharing lifestyle and home-related videos on YouTube and here. If you want to keep up-to-date, please follow my Instagram.
