YEAR IN REVIEW 2022

Welcome back to my annual year in review. What a year it's been! I finally feel like I'm back in the groove after some *rough* years. This is the fifth year I've reflected on my past year (check out 2021, 20202019 and 2018). Without further ado, it's get into my year in review 2022.

MILESTONES

  • Joe and I celebrated three friends at their weddings (Phoenix, New Jersey, & Salem)
  • I modeled for  La Bella Headbands again for their garden party collection
  • I was promoted in April! Coincidentally I actually got to attend a Lizzo concert the day I found out about my promotion. Needless to say - it was a pretty great day
  • I visited the Bahamas for the first time in May & lived out my Olsen twins dreams
  • Joe and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary (and 10 years together!) in June
  • I walked in a fashion show for the first time (check out Trudy's Brides)
  • I made some major strides with my mental health, particularly these past few months

TRAVEL

Thankfully I was able to travel quite a bit this year. I had a blast! Joe and I were fortunate enough to visit the Bahamas & different parts of New England for the first time. I also traveled solo and with my mom. Let's dive into it.

Palm Springs

In February, Joe and I went to Palm Springs (for the first time!) for Valentine's weekend. I'm not sure how we haven't made it out there yet. It was lovely, especially that time of year. I shared a thorough Palm Springs travel guide recently. If you want to know where to stay, what to do & where to eat, check it out.

Phoenix

My friend, Ally, got married in Phoenix in March. We took a long weekend to enjoy the festivities and get in some pool time. We stayed at the Arizona Biltmore, which was a wonderful decision. I'm dying to go back.

New York City

I was beyond grateful to visit New York City three times this year. My first trip of the year (in April) was a bit of a surprise. It was my first work trip since early 2020. I got to spend nearly a week in my favorite city with one of my favorite coworkers. During the trip, I managed to see the cherry blossoms during peak bloom at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden AND see Company on Broadway.

One month later, I flew back for my friend, Stephany's wedding. She got married in New Jersey. Her wedding was a traditional Mexican wedding, which was new for me and such a treat. After that we spent one day in New York City on (literally) my birthday before flying to the Bahamas.

I managed to fit in another trip the week after Thanksgiving. This was one of my best trips in a long time. My mom and I spent a week enjoying all the holiday festivities New York City has to offer. I shared daily reels on Instagram. I also recently shared an extensive video on YouTube.

TRAVEL

Bahamas

Eek, this has been on my bucket list for ages. Ever since I saw Holiday in the Sun with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, I knew I wanted to visit the Bahamas one day. Of course, we stayed at the Atlantis. It was just as good as I was hoping. Truly paradise. Back in 2017, we wanted to go the Bahamas for our honeymoon (at a smaller resort). Sadly there was a natural disaster that destroyed many resorts and significantly hiked the prices. We no longer could afford the trip. Fast forward five years and we were able to stay at a fancier/dream resort. Sometimes it feels like things really do happen for a reason.

New England

This was an unexpected one. When we were invited to my friend, Julia's wedding in Salem, MA, I knew I wanted to do a New England road trip after. We narrowed it down to Cape Cod & Nantucket. We flew into Boston and rented a car. We drove into Salem for two days for wedding festivities (props to Julia for the fantastic activities for her guests!). Then we made our way to Cape Cod. Unfortunately, it rained but we still checked out Provincetown. So fun! The next day we went to Nantucket for the day. It was amazing. I can't wait to go back. And that wrapped up our trip. I did a YouTube video all about our trip. It has tons of great recommendations.

Disneyland

This last minute trip was such a fun addition this year. I hadn't been to Disneyland since late 2019. This was also the first time I went during Halloween. I loved seeing all the decorations. Haunted Mansion with the Nightmare Before Christmas theme is definitely my favorite.

What's Coming Up In 2023?

I hope 2023 brings lots of great things for all of us. I really want to continue to work on my mental health, work life balance, boundaries - all that fun stuff šŸ™ƒ I also hope to continue my travels. Joe and I are trying to make Europe finally happen this year. We've wanted to go together for the past 10+ years. We'd love to make it to Paris & Greece for our first trip together. If you want to stay up-to-date, please follow along on Instagram.

I hope you enjoyed my year in review 2022.
